Zero Energy Solution Unveils VO₂-Based
Composite Filler for Road Heating Systems at CES 2026
Zero Energy Solution, a startup specializing in the manufacturing of advanced vanadium dioxide (VO₂) materials,
participated in the CES 2026 IBK ChangGong Pavilion, where it unveiled
a VO₂-based composite filler for road heating systems along with
a next-generation smart road solution designed to dramatically improve energy efficiency.
Zero Energy Solution is the only company in Korea to have secured mass-production technology for
VO₂ at the world’s lowest cost, achieved through a proprietary manufacturing
process that reduces the conventional nine-step process to a single step.
By leveraging the phase-change material (PCM) properties of VO₂, the composite
filler delivers a thermal buffering effect that maintains road surface
temperature for a certain period even during power interruptions.
The stored latent heat is gradually released, enabling stable road temperature
control and reducing energy consumption by 50–80% compared to conventional road heating systems.
Through its participation at CES 2026, Zero Energy Solution demonstrated both
its technological competitiveness and global business scalability.
Domestically, the company discussed pilot projects for VO₂-based road heating systems
with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea.
Internationally, it advanced discussions on field demonstration projects with Japan,
as well as test deployment schedules in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Currently exporting VO₂ composite fillers for road heating applications to Japan,
Zero Energy Solution plans to accelerate its global market expansion,
targeting cold-climate regions such as North America and Northern Europe.
